This film is based on the true story of its protagonist. It follows Milan, a Roma man who was brutally attacked by neo-Nazis at the age of eighteen. Milan falls into a coma and experiences clinical death. During this near-death experience, he is visited by visions in which the Devil tempts him, while Jesus urges him never to seek revenge.

Today, Milan lives in the same town with his wife and two sons, working as a security guard. When he learns that Erik, one of his former attackers, is about to be released from prison, the trauma he has long carried resurfaces.

To make matters worse, Zdena's mother Věra is dying in the hospital and her last wish is to see Czech singer Helena Vondráčková. Zdena begs her son to come and say goodbye to her grandmother before it is too late. Lukáš's visit sets off a series of events that reveal not only his secret life and the associated incognito of Chico Checo, but also Zdena's desire for a different life than what others expect.
